The Craft: Legacy Kentucky

Crafted by a legacy Kentucky distillery, this Kentucky Straight Bourbon aged for more than 10 years before being introduced to Amburana Wood staves. The finishing time - intentionally less than that of our four-year Amburana Bourbon - brought out the best of the decade-old Bourbon and the Brazilian oak. This beautiful mingling resulted in a well balanced, complex masterpiece, worthy of its allocation.

The Packaging: Bold Sophistication

RD1's iconic bottle honors the first federally registered distillery in Lexington and the many brands it produced while turning the page. The beautiful Ashland Distillery tree on the neck, the glass lettering, the concave bottle shape, Lexington’s horse farm fencing etched around the base, the striking black/gold label for the Limited Release...this bottle bridges history with innovation.

The Experience: Maturity with Penache

The flavors from the depths of the rickhouse are brightened by the dynamic yet delicate Amburana character that draws you in further. On the nose, spiced apple and honey come alive. Upon sipping, allspice mixes with oak and black pepper notes, later transcending into a warm caramel sweetness with hints of ripe peach and baked fruit. Notes of aged oak, tobacco, leather and apple linger with whispers of earth and anise.
