A Destination in Lexington

RD1 Distillery at The Commons opened in May 2025 as one of the newest stops on the world-famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail™. The modern space redefines the bourbon experience, anchored by RD1's fascination with wood-finished bourbon expressions.
Less than a mile outside downtown Lexington, RD1 anchors one of the city's newest entertainment districts. The Commons spans 42 acres of modern offices, unique dining concepts, dynamic entertainment, and walking trails.
The 10,215-square-foot distillery spans two levels with high ceilings, greenery, warm wood accents, and thoughtfully designed spaces throughout. At its center, a handcrafted tree stretches toward the ceiling, representing RD1's focus on wood finishing and connecting the space to the story behind the bourbon.

Amenities & Additional Information
Rentals
Seven round tables and 66 black banquet chairs are included in the facility rental fee. Outside rental vendors are permitted.
Catering
Outside caterers, food vendors, and food delivery are welcome. RD1 does not have an onsite kitchen.
Audio / Visual
The distillery is zoned for audio and features multiple 85-inch TV screens with Chromecast capabilities.
Timing
RD1 is open year-round. Most private events are held in the evenings after normal operating hours.
Shop
RD1 merchandise, bourbon, and gifts are available in the second-floor gift shop.
Load-In
Vendors can load in through the back entrance and have access to the service elevator.
