LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 28, 2024) – RD1 Spirits dazzled guests at the 2024 Kentucky Bourbon Festival under its white tent, not only with award-winning bourbon but also live painting by Kyle Lucks Fine Art of West Palm Beach, Fla.
Artist Kyle Lucks – who specializes in large scale portraits of athletes, musicians, cultural icons and historical figures – began each painting the week prior at his Florida studio, and then finished each in about five hours under the RD1 tent. Guests from across the country learned about RD1’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon and distinct wood finishing, while observing Kyle in action and striking up conversation in awe.
“The Art of Bourbon was absolutely beautiful to watch unfold,” said RD1 Co-founder and National Brand Ambassador Barry Brinegar, who was on site for the three-day festival in Bardstown, Ky. “The marriage of what we create as an innovative bourbon producer and what Kyle creates as an artist of iconic people and places was both entertaining and educational. And in the end, Kyle left us all speechless!”
Guests had the opportunity to enter The Art of Bourbon raffle for a chance to take home one of two different, 24x36-inch acrylics on canvas. On the final day of the festival, Kyle drew the art raffle winners – Don M. from Kentucky and Greg P. from Florida.
“I am inspired by fierce dedication to craft – like that of RD1 – and the energy and focus it takes to be successful at the highest level,” Lucks said. “With ‘The Home Stretch in Lexington,’ my mission was to capture the power of thoroughbred horse racing, and with ‘Kentucky Bourbon Festival,’ I wanted to evoke emotion from the memories made here in Bardstown, year after year.”
